This scarf is done with homespun Romney/Merino X wool. It is spun to aproximately worsted weight…10 wpi. I used approximately 180 yards, but you can make any length you would like.

Knitting needles size 11

Cast on 25

Begin with 4 rows of garter stitch…knit each stitch across for 4 rows, then begin pattern.

Row 1: k1, p1, (k3,p3) 3 times, k3, p1, k1

Row 2: k1, p1, (p3, k3) 3 times, p3, p1, k1

Row 3: Repeat Row 1

Row 4: Repeat Row 2

Row 5: Repeat Row 1

Row 6: k1, p1, (p3, k3) 3 times, p3, p1, k1

Row 7: k1, p1, (k3,p3) 3 times, k3, p1, k1

Row 8: Repeat Row 6

Row 9: Repeat 7

Row 10: Repeat Row 6

Repeat these 10 rows for pattern until your scarf is as long as you would like it to be. It looks best if you end your pattern with either Row 5 or Row 10 ..then begin the garter stitch border.

End with 4 rows of garter stitch… knit across each row for 4 rows.
